Statistical methods have always been helpful to manage every aspect of administration for Governments. Statistics is an eternal need for mankind. To recognise the role of statistics and make the world aware of it United Nations has approved the draft resolution no.A/64/L.53 dtd. 24.5.2010 (Agenda Item no. 48) at its 64th session on 03.6.2010 to celebrate 20.10.2010 as first ever World Statistics Day. This resolution was co-sponcered by 55 countries India being none of these.
